• Tectron Warm is brushed inside to give it a warm-yet-wicking insulating fleecy face.

• A much-copied Protective original, the 'zipper garage' is a discrete soft-mesh pocket that the zipper slips into at the top of its travel - thus preventing 'cold zipper on neck' misery.

'The polyester fabric, here called Tectron Warm, is fleece lined and as warm as a traditional kids's fleece without the bulk or propensity to overheat. There's a short front zip and a soft, raised collar to keep out draughts. The hem is elasticated and there are 3 elasticated rear pockets. Arms are long enough for cycling, with lightly elasticated cuffs, and there are reflective logos, front and rear. The cut is good for cycling , and my 12 year old tester reports that it's comfortable and warm.

Verdict: 9/10. It's warm, lightweight and will keep your children comfortable on long rides.'
