The Focus Variado 3.0's double butted aluminium alloy frame frame is designed and handbuilt in Germany. Focus acknowledge their bikes will lead a hard life. To keep their bikes looking new, every Focus frame is primed with an indestructible lacquer, then it is powder coated. The colour is applied to the electro-statically charged frames in the form of fine powder for a tougher, more scratch resistant finish.

The frame is equipped with the new Shimano Tiagra groupset. Focus don't just give you the massively upgraded 2x10 shifters and mechs, the Variado 3.0 also has the new Tiagra SLR brakes, so you can be confident that this bike will stop as efficiently as it shifts (in all meanings of that word).

‘The mid-range Shimano Tiagra gruppo gets a massive facelift, gaining the newer STI lever shape, matching everything from 105 upwards. A light-action shifter feel is maintained. External tension adjusters allow on-the-fly adjustment. The new-shape levers move Super SLR brake callipers bringing improved braking power to Tiagra level.’
