Endura Convert Softshell Jacket
The Endura Convert Softshell Jacket might be the only cycling top you will need for 95% of your rides.
A fair few customers have told us this is their favourite cycling top. If you buy one and don't agree, we’ll give you your money back.
Worn on its own over a base layer, it will keep you warm when you're on the move in sub-zero temperatures yet it's still comfortable when the temperature climbs up to 20 degrees. Then when it gets really warm, simply unzip the sleeves and it converts into a gilet.
- The main body of the jacket is a 3-layer MIG Microfibre fabric with a windproof/breathable/water-resistant membrane.
- The sleeves are in a lighter weight Xtract stretch wicking fabric.
- When you remove the sleeves, you can stash them in one of the 3 rear pockets.
- The 2 outer pockets are stretch mesh.
- The MIG middle pocket has an external zipped security pocket, say for your wallet.
- The sleeves zips double as pit zips.
- The large zipped chest pocket has a media port for MP3 cables and the like.
- Reflective trim on sleeves and shoulders help keep you safe.
'Compared to most other softshells, the 3-layer MIG microfibre fabric of the Convert has a harder, more proofed-feeling outer and a less fleecy inner. This means that it's not as cosy straight away but it doesn't cook you as soon as you turn the pace up. Once the sweat starts it wicks well and dries quickly afterwards. What really impresses though is how much rain/grimness it can shrug off before it starts to feel damp and heavy. As long as the pace stayed consistent we've been perfectly happy in it with a single base layer even on sub-zero night rides.
Thoughtful design also includes zips for the removable sleeves that double as pit vents, short wicking sleeves on the gilet, a big front pocket, and zipped waterproof stash and mesh pockets on the back. It's not as slim fit as some, but that will suit less slender athletes fine.
Verdict: Very versatile, wearable year-round jacket at a cracking price.'

|Very disappointed in quality and sizing of this garment after several excellent value purchases from the Co-operative. When you spend 100 quid on a jacket you expect something better.A part from the ability to convert it to a gilet it is not going to be much use in a Fife crosswind!Next time I want a jacket I will go to Halfords and try one.I must have more money than sense.A shame as I like the ethos of the cycling co-operative.|
