Cervélo S2 105 '16
Looking to cycle as fast as you can? Consider this Cervélo aero road bike.
- Cervélo full carbon frame and fork.
- The seat tube curves around the rear wheel to help smooth airflow and minimise turbulence.
- The BBright asymmetric bottom bracket shell enables the S2's oversized down tube and oversized LH chainstays, which combine to maximise power output.
- Internal cable routing with future-proof cable management makes the Cervélo S2 frame equally fit for mechanical or electronic gear shifting.
- Shimano 105 STI shifters and mechs.
- Now even smoother shifting, once you experience the latest 105 STI 2x11 levers, you will understand why Shimano 105 is the world's most popular road bike groupset.
Cervélo S-Series Range
With their S-series range, Cervélo are credited with creating and perfecting the 'aero road bike' concept. That is, a road bike that maximises aerodynamic advantage while being rideable in any conditions. That's significant because there was a time when aero/time trial/triathlon bikes, with their aero bars and full disc wheels, were totally specialist bikes you dared not ride in a cross wind.
Cervélo's breakthrough with the S2, was to create a bicycle that rode like the best road bike you have ever ridden, while also being more aerodynamic and thus (everything else being equal) faster than a regular road bike in most conditions.
Cervélo pioneered the aero bike segment. The S-Series is engineered to make you more efficient and comfortable—so you can be faster, whatever your speed. The focus on aerodynamics is visible in every aspect of the design—from the location and shapes of the TrueAeroTM tubes to the water bottle mounts. Once on the bike, its efficiency in transferring all of your power to the road will persuade—or demand—that you push it to road-blurring speeds. This performance does not wear off on climbs, making it an aero bike with the rare gifts of light weight and stiffness, one that climbs well and boosts your confidence descending. But speed also includes comfort—both in the carbon composite layup design and in the power saved through aerodynamics that keeps you comfortably in your zone, rather than off the back.
Cervélo's S-series offers you a saving of up to 32 Watts - up to 300 grams - less drag than a typical road bike. Translation: higher kph, lower bpm. The S-series’ extended seat tube cutout yields one of the largest single reductions in drag, while its BB stiffness gives you top responsiveness at top speeds. These are bikes engineered to outride all challenges from both the terrain and the competition - and leave you with energy left over to enjoy the ride.'
