The CNC machined pad holder is airy and elegant. But it's airy and elegant for good functional design reasons such as to maximise cooling and to minimise weight. Forgive us for gushing but we have never been so excited about a new brake block since the 1970s when people like Kool Stop and Aztec introduced synthetic pads that outlasted and outperformed everything that came before. Ashima now appear to have taken the next step forward when it comes to designing an even better mousetrap. I mean brake block.
