Specialized Hotrock 12 £99.95

KOKUA JUMPER

£110.00

Kokua Jumper £110

The Kokua Jumper is an inspired design from German company LIKEaBIKE. The Kokua Jumper has no pedals or cranks. Freed from the distraction of pedalling, the Kokua Jumper makes it much easier for wee (2-5 year old) riders to learn the art of balancing and steering. Then when they do eventually graduate to a bike with pedals, they're already confident in the saddle.

This aluminium machine is built with integrity by Dahon. At 7.7lb / 3.5kg it's easily the lightest 'bike' we've ever carried. Truly kid friendly. Tunable suspension and Schwalbe Big Apple tyres mean the Kokua Jumper just floats over obstacles.

If that isn't enough to recommend the Kokua Jumper to you, consider this. We've just heard that, arguably, the greatest rider ever, Eddy Merckx, has just bought his grandson one.

Intensive Bicycle Maintenance Classes in 2007: Aberdeen

You or your son or your daughter get a new bike. You want to keep it in good nick but don't know an Allen key from a Yale. You're a candidate for our all-day (hence the name Intensive) class in cycle maintenance - the easy way to get hands-on experience in our workshop under the friendly supervision of an Edinburgh Bicycle-trained mechanic.

The price of this all-day class is only £45 and we even throw in a nice lunch. Available dates are Saturday 20 January and Saturday 24 February 2007.

Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op New Year Honours List 2007: The Peoples' Choice

When our head office relocated to Royal Elizabeth Yard in 2005 it seemed fitting to create a New Year Honours List dedicated to the finest new cycling equipment we had discovered that year.

For New Year 2007, we want to hear from you.

Did you get a new bike that rekindled your pleasure in pedalling? Or a technical top or trousers you now feel naked without? Have you switched to SRAM trigger or Shimano Nexus shifting?

Knowing what you like helps us decide our product range. So we would really appreciate it if you wrote a one liner or a short paragraph to describe the piece of kit that floated your boat in 2006. Then in early 2007, we will put the most most popular recommendations in our shop windows and home page. You might even get a credit in our 2007 catalogue.

To make your New Year Honours List nomination - be it a bike, an accessory, a component or a garment - simply drop us an email by 10 December 2006.
