Eye HL-LD170 / TL-LD170 Light Set £12.95
Catchy name huh? Actually, Cat Eye's code numbers help you understand
this Japanese company's light range. HL means Head Light. TL means
Tail Light. LD means LED (Light Emitting Diode). The bigger the
number, the brighter the light. This LD170 light set is the least
expensive route to riding lit and legal this winter, courtesy
of Cat Eye, the industry standard in bicycle lighting. The (lower)
price, as ever with Cat Eye, includes their new Flex-Tight universal
brackets, and the batteries required to power these lights for
at least 50 hours. |
Cat
Eye HL-EL120 / TL-LD170 Light Set £19.95
EL is Cat Eye code for their unique Opticube-enhanced Electronic
Front Lights. Even their least expensive EL light, the 120,
is, at 50 candlepower, 5 times brighter than the HL-LD170.

Cat
Eye EL220 / TL-LD270 Light Set £34.95
With 5 LEDs the 170 candlepower EL220 is twice as bright as the
EL135. |
Cat
Eye EL320 / TL-LD600 Light Set £39.95
At 1,000 candlepower the EL320 is the first front light here that
doesn't just get you seen, it's bright enough for riding unlit
cycle paths. Here it's paired with the 5-LED TL-LD600, which is
around 4-times brighter than regular rear LEDs. |
Cat
Eye EL300 / TL-LD600 Light Set £42.95
The EL300 is still one of the best front lights available,
offering reliable, bright lighting, excellent visibility from
obtuse angles, and long (20/90h) run times from standard AA batteries.
The AU100 is the best rear light around. This set is a clear winner,
offering a mix of ease of use, stunning run times and typical
Cat Eye reliability. At the price, the best set available.
