Ridgeback Velocity
This is like the Ridgeback Comet upgraded with a double butted frame + even more Shimano finery.
The Velocity boasts the number one upgrade you could hope for in a modestly-priced bicycle. The frame is double butted - the tubes are thinner-walled in the middle - giving it a more lively feel. The frame upgrade alone is worth the extra 30 quid this bike costs over the Comet. When you notice that the fork is also upgraded from hi-tensile to CrMo steel, the Velocity becomes even more interesting. When the transmission is upgraded from Shimano Altus level to Acera and the V-brakes from our favourite Shimano copy (Tektro) for the real thing, this bike becomes irresistible.
