Revolution Cuillin Pro
Fitted with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, usually reserved for bikes costing at least £100 more.
Continuing the Revolution theme of offering most bicycle per hard-earned pound, the Pro version of the Cuillin is our least expensive hydraulic disc brake-equipped MTB. The great advantage of hydraulics is that they do away with the weak link of traditional bicycle brake systems - the cables. The happy result is a bicycle with a braking system you can pretty much take for granted between annual services.
The Cuillin Pro's longer travel fork is another bonus. But when you don't want suspension, say when climbing, you can lock out the 120mm travel with a flick of the fork leg-top Speed Lock lever. To further improve the bike's control and feel, the treads been upgraded to a pair of Speed King 26x2.1” from that most respected German tyre company, Continental.
Upgrades Over Revolution Cuillin Sport
- Tektro Auriga Comp hydraulic disc brake's dual piston design ensures consistent braking performance and guarantees even pad and rotor wear.
- The forks are also upgraded to SR SunTour’s XCR-D model. These are coil sprung (none more reliable). Their lower legs are magnesium alloy so they’re lighter weight. Their longer (120mm) travel means they can take bigger hits in the rough. Then when the road does turn smooth, you can lock out the suspension completely via its Speed Lock leg-top lever for a more efficient bob-free ride.
- Shimano Acera Rapidfire shifters / Alivio rear mech.
- Then the tyres are upgraded to a pair of pro-standard German-engineered Continental whose natural rubber-rich treads guarantee superior grip and feel.
- Wider 640mm bars over the Sport's 600mm bars for extra leverage.
- Pro-standard German-engineered Continental tyres' natural rubber-rich treads guarantee superior grip and feel.
Same as Revolution Cuillin Sport
- Sturdy but lightweight 7005-series aluminium. Eyeletted seat stays for mounting a pannier rack. Bosses and bolts on the down tube allow you to screw on a Crud Catcher-style mudguard and dispense with zip ties.
- Double wall rims optimised for the stresses applied by disc brakes.
- TruVativ X-Flow chainset.
- Shimano 11-32 cassette.
