Edinburgh - St Andrews LEPRA Ride

Date: Saturday 16 June 2012

Great route, great ride, great cause. The Edinburgh - St Andrews Ride is Scotland's longest-established charity ride. Edinburgh Bicycle Co-operative are proud to have offered free mechanical support since the LEPRA ride's inception in 1981. We love its inclusiveness. While the fittest riders can cover the 68 miles in the morning, family groups can take their time and make it a whole fun day out. Enjoyed by up to 1,200 cyclists each year, we believe that the Edinburgh to St Andrews Ride is one of the best days in the cycling calendar, but you don't have to take our word for it. Check this impartial article by a regular Edinburgh - St Andrews rider.

Chain Events C2C Coast to Coast Ride

Date: Saturday 14/15 July 2012

The C2C is the most popular long distance cycle route in the UK. It traverses Northern England from Coast to Coast taking in the magnificent scenery of the Lake District and the North Pennines. The C2C route was originally conceived and mapped by David Gray when he was a Sustrans employee. He now runs Chain Events to make endurance events, such as the C2C, more accessible for the everyday reasonably fit rider. Chain Events' moto is you do the pedalling, we do the meddling. In other words, Chain Events will take care of the tiresome logistics of organising transport, luggage and so forth so you can get out and enjoy the cycling. To facilitate this excellent process, Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op lay on free mechanical support over the whole weekend. To find out more and to register for the C2C click here.

Great North Bike Ride

Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op has provided free mechanical support for this hugely popular (around 2,000 cyclists) ride along the Northumbrian coast from Seahouses to Tynemouth since we opened our Newcastle branch in 2003. Great North Bike Riders raise money for the Chris Lucas Trust for research into cures for childhood cancer. If you are up for a good distance (57 mile) superbly-organised ride and you enjoy good crack and outstanding scenery register here.
