Bicycles are what the Bike Co-op is all about. Quite simply we look on bicycles as an all-round good thing. That's why we don't restrict our range to any specific niche or brand. That's why our bicycle range includes road bikes, cross bikes, touring bikes, mountain bikes, women's bikes, unisex bikes, kids' bikes, balance bikes, pro-quality bikes and beginners' bikes. We also cover the whole sector that comes under the rainbow banner, 'hybrid bikes' including flat bar commuter/hybrid bikes, high-bar comfort bikes, Pashley bikes (a group unto themselves), folding bikes and electric bikes.
Why? Because as Pulitzer Prize-winning Californian novelist William Saroyan famously wrote, 'The bicycle is the noblest invention of mankind. I love the bicycle. I always have. I can think of no sincere, decent human being, male or female, young or old, saint or sinner, who can resist the bicycle.'
Focus is a German bicycle company, founded in 1993 by Mike Kluge when he was reigning UCI Professional Cyclo-Cross World Champion. With their road and cycle-cross bikes starting at Shimano Tiagra 10-speed level, and their cheapest mountain bikes, XT-equipped, Focus don't really do 'entry level', as we know it. Instead, Focus are recognised as the bicycling equivalent of their German neighbours Audi and Mercedes. That is they exclusively produce performance bicycles to meet the demands of cycling enthusiasts, right up to Team Rapha Focus and Team Focus AG2R pro level. However, unlike those aforementioned automobile companies, Focus are renowned for delivering exceptional German quality control at comparatively affordable prices.
